CH2M to Provide Airfield Design Support at 35 USN & USMC Locations

BAE Systems has selected CH2M for an award contract to provide architect-engineering services in support of the implementation of airfield Instrument Landing System and shore-based Instrument Carrier Landing System installations, at over 35 U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps facilities worldwide.

CH2M and BAE Systems will support the Air Traffic Control Systems Division as part of the U.S. Navy’s Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems program.

The Navy established the ILS and ICLS as a program of record to provide enhanced all-weather landing capability to new Navy and USMC aircrafts such as the F-35, P-8 and MV-22.

These landing systems provide electronic precision guidance to help Navy pilots approach and land safely on the ground and at sea, under conditions of reduced visibility.

CH2M’s military aviation team will serve the Navy through the development of facility requirements documents for the ILS and ICLS programs and will provide preliminary civil and electrical design for each installation site through the preparation of base electronic system engineering plans and installation design plans.
