NEC Corporation of America has announced that Dr. Kathleen L. Kiernan, who was recognized for Excellence in Homeland Security in the 2020 ‘ASTORS’ Awards Program, has joined NEC National Security Systems (NSS) as Interim President effective July 1st, 2021.
“As a 29-year veteran of Federal Law Enforcement and one of the country’s foremost experts in threat detection, Dr. Kiernan will play a fundamental role in helping to lead NEC NSS into the next phase of development,” according to a NEC statement.

She is also the Founder of Preparedness Without Paranoia® (PWP.ORG) Threat Awareness Training to empower communities, parents and children to invest in their own safety and security through education and community engagement.
She is a recognized expert in strategic thinking, strategy development, and facilitating critical incident management exercises for senior leaders across government and private sector organizations.
