Fortior Solutions, a leader in world-class identity and access control solutions that specialize in National Crime Information Center Interstate Identification Index (NCIC III) checks and third party commercial background screenings, is pleased to announce their RAPIDGate® & RAPID-RCx® Programs, have been nominated to compete in the prestigious 2021 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards Program.
The RAPIDGate® and RAPID-RCx® programs provided unparalleled perimeter control at some of the most security conscious organizations in the world including, the U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and NASA among others.
The RAPIDGate program is a complete vendor management solution that includes verification of company sponsorship, company enrollment, multi-language kiosk based registration, individual biographic and biometric collection, equipment, commercial background screenings, DOJ/FBI NCIC/III checks (subject to approval of the relevant government authorities).

RAPIDGate also includes quarterly commercial background screenings for continuous vetting, credential production, state-of-the-art electronic credential scanning and enforcement of access privileges, monthly and on demand activity reporting, system maintenance, customer service, waiver management and training.
Additionally, the RAPIDGate program allows security personnel at perimeter gates to electronically scan RAPIDGate credentials and know with confidence that the individual still has authorized legitimate need to access the facility.
This is truly an end-to-end vendor management system offering customizable solutions, even allowing credentialed participants to access multiple facilities, locations, and entities with a single credential.
The days of paper passes, relying solely on visual inspection, using outdated and unreliable software can be obsolete as this seamless, very low friction program allows facilities and companies to easily turn off access at appropriate locations instantaneously.
Every company and individual is properly vetted and sponsored prior to credentialing.
Ongoing vetting, sponsorship verification and life cycle management throughout the duration of the program ensures individuals are still approved to access the facility.
To date, the RAPIDGate program has been implemented at more than 150 U.S. military locations and adopted by more than one- million participants.
The RAPID-RCx program is an add-on subscription to the RAPIDGate program, with enhanced capabilities which allows for secure facilities to manage the access of infrequent visitors.
The handheld scanners have the capability to read 1D/2D barcode, MRZ, and contact identity credential formats (e.g., Driver’s Licenses, State IDs, Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWICs), US military common access cards (CACs), US military retired ID cards, US military dependent ID cards, MRZ compliant passports, US passport cards, and Personal Identity Verification (PIV) and PIV-Interoperable credentials (PIV-I).
The handheld confirms whether the credential is valid in format, REAL ID and is not expired, and indicates whether the individual is pre-approved for access through positive lists (e.g., VIP, event list, and infrequent visitor vetting).
Furthermore, the handheld likewise matches credentials against negative watch lists (e.g., Barment Lists, Officer Safety, FBI Ten Most Wanted, FBI Most Wanted Terrorists, FBI Crimes Against Children, U.S. Marshal’s Most Wanted, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcements (ICE) Most Wanted, ICE Human Trafficking Most Wanted, and International Police Organizations (INTERPOL) Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC-Terrorist Watch List) and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (BATFE) Most Wanted), enabling gate personnel to quickly identify unauthorized individuals.
Their handheld promptly displays an individual’s status based upon the results of the scan (typically in less than three seconds), and that data is recorded and available in reports, which have aided many facilities with their investigate needs.
The addition of this program allows security personnel to take the guess work out of visually verifying and inspecting identification cards.
Together, the RAPIDGate® and RAPID-RCx® Programs have identified more than four million individuals attempting to access U.S. military installations identified as ineligible or barred from facility access and have been used more than 650 million times by the US military.
Also through the unparalleled vetting of these programs, three individuals listed in the FBI’s “Known or Appropriately Suspected Terrorist” file were accurately identified.
