Gallagher Earns Double Gold for Access Control & Perimeter Tech

Smart, flexible, convenient, and secure - Gallagher’s Command Centre Mobile is transforming the way organizations manage their access control.
Smart, flexible, convenient, and secure - Gallagher’s Command Centre Mobile is transforming the way organizations manage their access control.

Leading global security manufacturer, Gallagher, is the proud recipient of two Gold American Security Today 2021 ‘ASTORS’ Homeland Security Awards.

Gallagher Command Centre Mobile was awarded in the Best Access Control and Authentication System category, and their Monitored Pulse Fence System in the Best Perimeter Protection System category.

Combining Gallagher’s Command Centre site management platform with the flexibility of mobile technology, the Command Centre Mobile solution provides customers using government-issued credentials, such as military bases, with the ability to monitor and manage their security from any location for greater control and productivity.

Gallagher’s Command Centre Mobile solution extends security across your site and beyond the security control room. From its seamless integration between building management systems to simplifying site traffic flow and mustering, the market is eagerly embracing Command Centre Mobile and the value it brings to their site’s operations.

Developed with agility in mind, the Command Centre Mobile app allows security operators to manage day-to-day security issues from anywhere on-site, whether on guard or on patrol, the app allows them to spend more time away from their desk, while still maintaining complete awareness of what’s happening on-site.

High throughput areas, such as military bases, require secure and streamlined access control to manage traffic flow and safety.

Through using the mobile mustering and mobile reader capabilities of Gallagher’s Command Centre Mobile, the daily management of traffic flow between the hundreds of people entering military gates for work or post, can be efficiently managed to reduce traffic outside of the base and tailing into outer roads.

This not only protects the safety of staff, visitors, and contractors arriving on the base, but also allows for quicker cardholder check-in and reduces the need for unnecessary physical contact.

The app interfaces directly with Gallagher Command Centre, providing a secure link to the site management capabilities that already bring security and business efficiency to your site.

Customized actions can also be triggered when a cardholder badges at a mobile reader, such as opening boom gates, or unlocking turn-styles – further streamlining cardholder access.

In an emergency, Command Centre Mobile can assist with the mustering of cardholders anywhere on site and can manage evacuation reporting through Command Centre.

The Mobile Evacuation feature enables users to move cardholders into access zones from a mobile device and examine cardholder counts in monitored areas.

For added security onsite, the Spot Check feature within Command Centre Mobile enables users to challenge cardholders at a location and quickly determine if they are authorized.

Ashley Meston, Gallagher Director of Federal Programs

In the event of an unauthorized cardholder attempting access, Command Centre Mobile records the reason for the failure, along with the location details, and disables the card to prevent further use.

“We are thrilled to receive this award for our Command Centre Mobile solution,” says Ashley Meston, Director of Federal Programs for Gallagher.

“Federal Government agencies are increasingly focused on protecting their sites in a secure and innovative way, and they are turning to technology like our Command Centre Mobile solution to help them accomplish this.”

Gallagher Monitored Pulse Fence System
Gallagher Monitored Pulse Fence System consists of energized and high tensile wires that can be constructed inside a new or existing perimeter fence and triggers instant alerts if unauthorized entry or exit is detected.

Gallagher’s Monitored Pulse Fence System, which won Gold in the Best Perimeter Protection System category, stream-lines all aspects of security through integrating perimeter, access control, intruder alarms, and video management systems via one intelligent platform, Gallagher Command Centre.

Configured and controlled using Command Centre, their effective and reliable solutions can be managed and monitored across multiple sites from one central location.

The Monitored Pulse Fence System consists of an array of energized, high tensile wires that can be constructed inside a new or existing perimeter fence, and the monitored wires detect unauthorized entry or exit into defined areas and trigger instant alerts in Command Centre.

Attempts to breach the perimeter are deterred by an energized pulse sent around the perimeter fence line which meet stringent safety criteria, while delivering a short but safe shock, making it almost impossible to climb the fence.

(Gallagher perimeter detection solutions offer quick and reliable detection of unauthorized entry to your site. As part of a responsive security approach, the company’s sensors can trigger alarms without the intruder being aware, prompting video verification of the intrusion, or triggering an escalated security response. Command Centre allows for voltage levels to be adjusted to meet varying needs: high for maximum deterrent and low for periods or locations of lesser risk.

The Monitored Pulse Fence System can be segmented into independently monitored detection zones or areas, easily visualized on a Command Centre site plan for awareness of where an alarm occurs, thereby maximizing the coordination of an appropriate response.

Furthermore, the system intelligently differentiates between serious breaches and environmental changes and as a result, false alarms are prevented, and intruders are unable to use the cover of adverse weather to breach the fence undetected.

When a fence sensor is triggered, an alarm will activate for that zone, allowing guards to immediately focus their attention where it is most needed.

“The Monitored Pulse Fence System truly reflects our dedication to creating innovative solutions that address the challenges faced by our customers,” said Dave Solly, Product Manager for Perimeter at Gallagher.

“To help sites operating in harsh environments, we introduced the Adaptive Thresholds feature which allows the Monitored Pulse Fence System to adapt dynamically to environmental changes, which cause fluctuations in voltage on the fence line.”

“For the customer, this eliminates false alarms and reduces the costs associated with unnecessary callouts, or worse yet, alarms being ignored due to false alarm fatigue.”

From Access Control to Perimeter Security to Intruder Detection – it’s what they do. Gallagher is trusted to protect what matters most, by more than 12,000 customers in more than 135 countries.
