The Security Industry Association (SIA) has announced that nominations are being accepted for the 2016 Women in Biometrics Awards.
The awards, which are co-presented by SIA and SecureIDNews, were launched to recognize innovative women dedicated to creating a more secure world by guiding this crucial technology market.
The awards will be presented as part of the SIA Honors Night event at The Current at Chelsea Piers in New York, NY, on Wednesday, Nov. 16.
The event starts at 6:30 p.m., and tickets are available from SIA.

Judges, representing leading organizations in biometrics and physical and digital identity, will select the award recipients based on characteristics of leadership, participation, innovation and mentoring.
The awards were first presented in 2015 by SecureIDNews as a way to recognize the women who are driving the incredible advancements that are keeping cities, citizens, companies and employees safe.
Inaugural winners included leaders from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Secure Identity & Biometrics Association, CSC and MorphoTrak.
The event will also see the presentation of the George R. Lippert Memorial Award, the Jay Hauhn Excellence in Partnerships Award and the SIA Insightful Practitioner Award.
